Michael Tannousis
New York State Assemblymember, District 64
Michael Tannousis is the New York State Assemblymember for the 64th district — Staten Island’s East Shore plus a slice of southern Brooklyn — and the chair of the Staten Island Republican Party.
Born December 8, 1983, on Staten Island, the son of Cypriot immigrants, Tannousis attended Binghamton University (BA) and Pace University (JD). He worked as a prosecutor in Staten Island and the Bronx and as counsel to Councilman Joe Borelli.
He succeeded Nicole Malliotakis in AD-64 in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022 and 2024 with about 97% of the vote. Since October 7, 2022 he has also chaired the Staten Island Republican Party, making him a bridge figure in the five-county New York City GOP.
