Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Kings County Republican Committee — the official Republican Party organization of Brooklyn, New York, also known as the Brooklyn GOP (“we,” “us,” or “our”) — collects, uses, and protects information you provide through this website. By using this site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Last updated: September 16, 2026.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “last updated” date, so check back periodically. Your continued use of the site after any changes affirms your agreement to the revised policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us

The public forms on this site collect only what each form shows you. The email-list join forms collect your first name, last name, email address, and ZIP code, plus your tick on the consent checkbox. The Find Your District Leader tool collects the street address you type — it is sent only to the city geocoder that converts it to map coordinates (see “The only third parties involved” below) and is not stored by us. Event organizers may use a password-protected staff form to submit event details and a contact email or phone; that material reaches committee staff, never the public site. If you contact us by email or get involved as a volunteer, we may also receive your phone number and any other details you choose to share. Providing this information is always your choice.

Information collected automatically

Our web server writes ordinary access logs when you visit — your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the site that referred you. That logging is done by the server itself for security and uptime, as it is on almost any website, and we do not turn it into a profile of you. Aside from the Meta Pixel described under “Cookies and tracking” below, we run no analytics service and set no tracking cookies of our own.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to send you campaign updates and news, announce events across Brooklyn, coordinate volunteer opportunities such as canvassing, phone banks, and poll watching, send fundraising appeals, respond to your questions, and keep the site working. We do not build a profile of you, and we never sell your information. We do advertise, and the Meta Pixel described under “Cookies and tracking” below reports to us which of our ads bring visitors to the site. We do not otherwise use your visit for advertising.

Emails and Mailchimp

Our email list is managed through Mailchimp, an email platform operated by Intuit Inc. When you join our list, the name, email address, and ZIP code you entered are stored by Mailchimp on our behalf so we can send you updates, and Mailchimp handles that data under its own privacy policy. Mailchimp acts as our service provider and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes. Joining is a deliberate act: you tick the consent box yourself, and we load no Mailchimp script, pixel, or tracker on any page of this site — the form posts to Mailchimp only when you submit it. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link you can use at any time.

Text messages (SMS)

Where we offer text message updates, participation is governed by our Mobile Terms & Conditions. Mobile information is handled as follows: no mobile information will be shared by us with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared by us with any third parties.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no tracking cookies of its own and runs no analytics of its own. It does carry one third-party measurement tool: the Meta Pixel (Facebook), detailed under “The only third parties involved” below. When the Pixel loads, Meta may set its own cookie in your browser.

What that means in practice

When you open any page of this site, your browser talks to our server — and, for the Meta Pixel described below, to Facebook. We serve our own fonts, images, and videos from this same server, so apart from the Pixel, simply reading the site makes no request to Google, TikTok, X, or any other advertising or data-broker company. We embed no social-media widgets, no “like” or share buttons, no third-party forms, and no third-party video players; the Meta Pixel is the only measurement tag on this site.

The only third parties involved

There are five. Four of them come into play only when you choose to use them; the fifth, Meta, is loaded on every page. Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) stores the name, email address, and ZIP code you submit when you join our email list, so that we can send you updates. WinRed processes donations — that happens on WinRed’s own domain under WinRed’s privacy policy; we never see your card details. NYC Planning Labs GeoSearch — when you use the Find Your District Leader tool, the address text you type is sent as a lookup request to the city’s GeoSearch geocoder (geosearch.planninglabs.nyc, operated by the New York City Department of City Planning) to convert it to coordinates; the match against district boundaries then happens entirely in your browser, and we never receive or store what you typed. GeoSearch handles that request under the city’s own practices. Meta (Facebook) — website analytics and advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel (visitor interactions are shared with Meta for ad reporting and optimization; see meta.com/policies). Unlike the others, it is not something you opt into: it runs on every page, including this one. X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok — we link to our pages on those services. Apart from the Meta Pixel described above, nothing is sent to them while you are on this site; their own policies apply once you click through and leave.

Server logs and your browser settings

Our hosting server does keep the standard access logs described above (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and uptime. They are not used to identify or profile individual visitors. Because we place no cookies ourselves, blocking cookies in your browser will not break anything here. If any of this changes, we will update this policy before it happens, not after.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purposes described in this policy. Email-list records stay in Mailchimp until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Event submissions are kept while the event is current, then removed from the public site. Access logs are kept for a limited operational window for security and uptime and are never used to profile visitors. If you ask us to delete information we hold about you, we will do so within a reasonable time; email [email protected].

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with vendors that perform services on our behalf (such as Mailchimp for email delivery), when required by law or legal process, or to protect our rights, our supporters, or the public. Aside from the Meta Pixel described above, we run no analytics on this site and hold no visitor-behavior data of our own to aggregate, report on, or share.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

This site links to websites we do not control — including WinRed, which processes donations; our own pages on X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok; and official election resources such as the New York State Board of Elections and the NYC Board of Elections. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies. Those links take effect only when you click them: apart from the Meta Pixel described above, this site loads no content from any of them while you are reading here.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, let our supporters know by email.
